The next Star Wars event is here, and it's a whopper for anyone with a passing interest in the Lego games. It's Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and it'll be out this summer.

The announcement has been a bit of a mess. Publisher Warner hinted at something BIG to come yesterday, only for the Xbox.com site to accidentally reveal the game -- and loads of lovely screenshots -- before it was supposed to. The announcement says TT Games is doing the development, plus it'll be ready for launch on June 28.

And some others. The initial images seem to concentrate on reimagining Force Awakens' main trailer, but, as you might expect, in Lego. The published-early announcement says that game: "...will bridge the gap between Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Naturally, the iconic cast of characters from both films will feature in the game." [IGN]
