With the smartphone set to launch on Sunday, expect the next fortnight or so to be a whirlwind of Samsung Galaxy S7 news. Just ahead of blast-off, we’re hearing that the flagship will feature an always-on display, which should help keep its battery running for longer, as you won’t need to keep prodding it awake to read the time and notifications.
The S7 Edge will reportedly also feature the technology, and there’s talk that the curvy bits of the display will be used for always-on goodness. It’s nothing new -- Lumia phones from several years back featured always-on screens -- but it would be a handy addition nonetheless. The LG G5, which also happens to be launching this Sunday, will also use always-on technology.
The S7 is
guaranteed expected to pack a 5.1-inch, 2,560 x 1,440 display, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM and expandable storage. Mysterious. [Techradar]
