The Robot Wars Original House Bots Have Been Made Even More Vicious

The show is officially on the road. Filming for the new series of Robot Wars kicked off in Glasgow today, and the BBC has confirmed that some familiar faces/bodywork/weapons have been invited back for the relaunch.

House robots Sir Killalot, Matilda, Shunt and Dead Metal will all be involved in the new series, and they’ve all been updated to make them even more vicious and terrifying and sexy (probably) than ever.

Also making a return is the University of Sheffield’s Professor Noel Sharkey, who’ll be joined on the judging panel by the University of Edinburgh’s Professor Sethu Vijayakumar and Dr Lucy Rogers of robotics company Makertorium. As you can see, Vijayakumar wasted no time in getting an update out on social media.

We haven’t yet been given a decent look at this year’s robotic warriors, but the BBC has promised that more news will drop in due course. I've got my fingers crossed for a shock appearance from Atlas, though he really needs to show some passion.
