Dyson has revealed the V8, its new series of cordless vacuum cleaners, designed to maximise portability, versatility and power. The cordless V8 Absolute will run for 40 minutes -- that’s twice the stamina of previous models -- before you resort to kicking it and imploring it to come back to life, and the company says it provides a monster 115AW of suction in max mode. Let's face it, you can never have too much suction.
The V8 weighs 2.6kg, so you shouldn’t have any trouble carrying it around the house while dance-cleaning along to 90s club anthems, and you can use it in both handheld and stick modes. Its motor is capable of hitting 110,000rpm, and there’s also a clever new bin-emptying mechanism, which features a rubber collar that scrapes dirt off the shroud.
“Our latest generation motor sits at the heart of the Dyson V8 cord-free vacuum,” said James Dyson. “It’s the result of 18 months research and development and 500,000 hours of testing. This motor enables the Dyson V8 cord-free vacuum cleaner to be powerful and versatile.”
However, it’s a pricey sucker. The Dyson V8 Absolute costs a whopping £499.99, though it ships alongside a pair of cleaner heads, a mini motorised tool, a combination tool and a crevice tool.
