Sky has sealed a new deal with Sony Pictures Television, which will see the TV service bag the rights to ‘all new and future’ Sony releases before any other service in Europe. IN 4K TOO. Well, if you’ve got Sky Q anyway.
Sky Movies, Sky Cinema and Sky Film subscribers will be able to
fall asleep on the couch feast their eyes on the latest Sony movies over a year ahead of any other subscription service. As images from the new Ghostbusters film have been used in the press materials, we assume that’ll be one of the first to land on Sky.
The company's also revealed that Angry Birds, Money Monster and Inferno are on their way too, but frustratingly, there’s still no word on when 4K will actually be switched on for Sky Q. The 4K magic's expected to finally happen ahead of the 2016/17 football season, which suggests an early August arrangement.
