The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner has released the name of the Apple employee found dead at its Cupertino headquarters on Wednesday.

According to a tweet by Matt Keller, a reporter at ABC7 who has been closely following the story, the employee was identified as 25-year-old Edward Mackowiak.

A search suggests that social media profiles with Mackowiak’s name and the title “software engineer at Apple” have been deleted at LinkedIn and Twitter.

The coroner’s office has not released the cause of death. We’ve reached out to Apple for comment.

Apple released this statement yesterday: “We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of a young and talented coworker. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends, including the many people he worked with here at Apple. We are working to support them however we can in this difficult time.”

Update, 8:05 p.m. EDT: An Apple spokesperson declined to comment to Reuters and would not confirm Mackowiak’s role at the company.

Update, 8:40 p.m. EDT: The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner hasdetermined the cause of death as suicide.
