There’s finally a reason to buy one of those ridiculously great but expensive HDR TVs. Well, depending on what sort of TV you're into. Netflix has announced that more than a dozen of its shows will be available in HDR before the end of the year, which is great news for those of you who just can’t stand regular 4K because it's so basic.

These are the shows getting the HDR treatment in the coming months:

  • A Series of Unfortunate Events
  • Bloodline
  • Chef's Table
  • Daredevil
  • The Defenders
  • The Do-Over
  • Hibana
  • Iron Fist
  • Jessica Jones
  • Knights of Sidonia
  • Luke Cage
  • The Ridiculous Six

Netflix hasn’t yet revealed any specific dates, but says that 100 hours of HDR content will be viewable by the end of August, with another 50 hours arriving before the end of the year. Only 4K subscribers will have access to the high-end stuff, so regular Joes can just ignore everything above. [Engadget via Verge]
