If, like me, you've been a Three UK customer for many years, tied to its super-attractive SIM-only One Plan (unlimited data, more texts and minutes than you know what to do with for between £15 and £25, depending on when you signed up), you're probably going through a period of mourning. You'll have recently been informed that Three is ditching the plan as it "updates" its offering to meet the current market.
In other words, as I've found out to my slight horror recently, you'll be paying more for less on basically any alternative plan the network will offer to shift you on, however useful features like Feel at Home may be. So, to cut a long story short I've been on the lookout for a new mobile network home. And I might have just found one.
HotUKDeals is currently highlighting an offer from Mobile Phones Direct, which is selling a value-packed EE SIM-Only deal. For £19.99 a month on a 12 month contract, you get 16GB of data, plus unlimited minutes and texts. It allows for tethering, and has 4G data as standard. But perhaps best of all, if you can handle the faff of dealing with cashback firms Quidco or TCB, you can get £96 cashback on the deal, effectively driving that price down to £11.99 a month.
It's not quite as tasty as the mobile Valhalla that was the all-you-can-eat data of The One Plan, but it's the closest I've seen yet, and better than anything Three UK has offered since shuttering its ultimate offer. Any other suggestions, folks? [Mobile Phones Direct via HotUKDeals]
