The new series of Top Gear has reportedly been delayed again, as BBC bosses are concerned that ITV’s shit but popular Britain’s Got Talent will prove too much competition to handle. The Chris ‘I’m more Annoying Than You’ Evans-fronted show was originally due to land on our screens on May 8th, but was then believed to have been pushed back to May 22nd.
That would mean a heavyweight clash with the first semi-final of the ITV talent show. Not a safe move for a program that’s being ridiculed at every opportunity by the media. “We have always said we will launch in May and full scheduling details will be announced in due course,” said a spokesperson for the show earlier today, all-but-confirming a troubled situation.

Meanwhile, an apparent insider allegedly told the Daily Mirror, “Top Gear is already under intense scrutiny and the last thing they need is to try and launch it against ITV’s most popular show. They were gutted when they heard that Top Gear would go head-to-head with Britain’s Got Talent. They’ve pulled a sharp handbrake turn.” Ha, get it?
