Scotsman Arrested for Training Pet Dog to do Nazi Salutes While Watching Hitler Clips

A man in Scotland has been arrested under hate crime laws after posting a clip of his girlfriend's dog doing an approximation of a Nazi salute while watching videos of Hitler speeches.

The man has been arrested instead of the dog because, although the dog is presumably unaware of the historical connotations of the leg gesture, the owner surely was not, because everyone knows about Hitler.

Police Scotland confirmed that a 28-year-old man from Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, is the one currently under arrest, after complaints were made about the video in which a pug does a sort of rubbish doggy salute shortly after being propped up in front of footage of Adolf Hitler.

DI David Cockburn explained that: "This clip has been shared and viewed online, which ultimately has caused offence and hurt to many people in our community. There is no place for hate crime in Scotland and police take all reports of incidents seriously."

There are quite a few Nazi dogs on YouTube, as you might expect, although this one's a firm candidate for being the one in question, as the man looks about 28, has access to a pug, and also speaks in the right accent.

Plus, at around the 1:00 mark, the dog responds to the "Sieg Heil" command by lifting up its paw. Then it gets worse with talk about gassing the Jews. What a very silly bored man. [Guardian]
