Now that the damage is done, the cat’s out of the bag and xenophobia no longer needs to be hidden, the Leave campaign has decided to make its bullshit claims a little harder to access and stare in disbelief at.
The home page of its website has been wiped, and now simply features a ‘Thank You’ banner superimposed over an image of Boris Johnson, Michael Gove and a group of Leavers. It previously displayed a subhead emblazoned with the words, "On 23 June, it's safer to Vote Leave and take back control. We should stop sending £350 million per week to unelected politicians in Brussels, and spend our money on our priorities, like the NHS."
As the Remain voters knew all along, the NHS claim was a load of bollocks, with
Greenback Nigel Farage admitting as much immediately after the results of the referendum were announced on Friday. Yet it was shamelessly used as one of the Leave campaign’s main assurances.
Earlier reports claimed the entire site had been cleansed, but that’s not the case. All of the pro-Brexit
material propaganda is still accessible, just harder to find. If you’re not angry enough already, you can find it all via a Google search or by clicking this link. Here's an archived version of the site too. [Cnet]
