Samsung Galaxy S8 Expected to Feature VR-Friendly 4K Display

The excellent Samsung Galaxy S7 only came out a few months back, but rumours and leaks about its successor are already swirling around.

The latest gossip says the Galaxy S8 will feature a 3,840 x 2,160 (4K) display, which could actually make the Gear VR worth buying. Samsung’s headset is a decent device, but falls short because the company hasn’t yet released a phone with a screen sharp enough to do justice to virtual reality. That could be set to change.

Battery life would almost certainly suffer as a result, but we’ll try not to get too riled up about that right now because the phone doesn’t actually exist yet. A dual-camera setup around the back has also been touted, along with IP68 water- and dust-resistance and 10nm processors for extra grunt and improved efficiency.

Sounds expensive. [WCCFTech via Pocket-Lint]
