The Real Life Pong Table is a 70s Dream Come True

By Aatif Sulleyman on at

Think back to 1972 for a moment. A new video game company by the name of Atari has just created a magical machine where you can play games of virtual table-tennis against, well, something.

What could be cooler than that?

Feast your eyes on the real-life version of the iconic arcade game. YouTube hero Daniel Perdomo and co have done the business, building a Pong table that can be described as ‘The Dream’. Though it may look like a regular air hockey table, this thing features trackers for the ball and paddles, while hard drives double up as controls and LED lights keep score.

Though you can only drool over a YouTube clip right now, Perdomo is looking to partner up with a hardware manufacturer in order to produce more tables that would definitely definitely look right at home in the middle of your living room. Here’s hoping it happens. [Engadget]
