Welcome to the latest issue of New Top Gear is Doing Worse Than it Was Last Week. 2.34 million people tuned in to the fourth episode of the revamped series yesterday, representing the lowest Sunday night audience of any episode since 2002.
Believe it or not, even we’re bored of doing these posts now, and Chris Evans’ time on the show will surely come to an end at the close of this season. The famously irritating personality is widely considered to be the weakest link in the new set-up, with reports last week claiming Top Gear management have already decided to cut down his shouty screen-time.
Top Gear is key to the BBC, reportedly bringing in £50 million for BBC Worldwide. The show desperately needs to get back on track, and quickly. The Grand Tour hasn't started yet and it's already winning the motoring showdown. [Guardian]
