Star Wars Episode 8 Has Wrapped Filming

There has been a disturbance in the Star Wars Episode 8 production schedule. Have you felt it? As if thousands of set runners cried out in relief and were suddenly silenced. Yep, you guessed it – Rian Johnson's Star Wars sequel has wrapped filming.

Just days after he teased that the next episode in the space saga would be concluding filming shortly, Mark Hamill took to Twitter to confirm that shooting had finished with a single word:

That gives us almost seventeen months to the day before Episode 8 hits cinemas on December 15th, 2017. So plenty of time for a CGI gungan to be inserted. Sounds like Hamill had a really good time on the set though, also tweeting this nice little callback to the original trilogy:
