No Man's Sky Takes Just Over a Day to Finish, Says the Guy Who's Already Played it

A chap who somehow managed to get his hands on a copy of No Man’s Sky early (and has been posting gameplay videos online) says it takes less than 30 hours to reach the centre of the universe -- the game’s main objective.

Redditor dayhmeeuhn claims to have already managed it, despite Hello Games leading many to believe that the feat would take hundreds of hours. He says a fairly abundant in-game resource helped him along, but added that no spoilers or exploits were used.

That said, Hello Games has always said that one of the game’s biggest appeals lies in exploration and making discoveries. Though dayhmeeuhn insists he did do some of this, his main aim was to finish the game quickly.

“I have done A LOT of what the game has to offer,” he reported. “I actually intentionally took time out of my warp jumping over the course of going to the middle to explore planets to break up the monotony of it. This does not mean I have done all of the major events, however – I am still yet to swim to the bottom of a big ocean. I am still yet to destroy a space station. I definitely still have stuff to do.”

Bugs aside, he generally very positive feedback for No Man's Sky, which comes out on August 10th. [Reddit via VG247]
