The Night Tube may be here at last, but not all is well with the London Underground. Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) Union members are set to hold a 24-hour strike -- kicking off at 9.30pm tonight -- which will badly affect the Hammersmith and City and Circle lines tomorrow.
According to reports, this latest dispute revolves around working conditions, including toilet break rules. As somebody who spends a significant portion of the day in the bog, I’m struggling to conjure up a great deal of rage.
The Hammersmith and City line will be down from 9pm tonight and all day on Friday, while “very limited” Circle line services will be in operation, TfL has said. Even then, those services are expected to be packed and could also be subject to last-minute cancellations.
Simply put, if you usually use the Hammersmith and City or Circle line to get to the office, you’re probably going to be late for work tomorrow. Might as well be hungover too. [IBT]
