An Essex man caught speeding his DeLorean has claimed he wasn’t trying to time travel. A likely story.
Marty Nigel McFly Mills hit a top speed of 89mph when he was clocked driving north on the A12. Needless to say, he was unable to escape the authorities by travelling through time, as we understand the vehicle wasn’t equipped with a flux capacitor.
He appeared before Chelmsford magistrates but got off scot-free, as the two officers who caught him were absent.
“I wasn’t trying to time travel,” said Mills, desperate for anyone -- literally anyone -- to believe him. “It was at 11am on Sunday and the road was completely clear.
“I was being prosecuted for going 89mph in a DeLorean, wasn't something special meant to happen at 88mph?”
He’s clearly been studying the movies. [Telegraph]
