It’s 2016, and iPhone queues are still a thing.
If you happen to walk past one today, rather than screwing up your face or spitting at the floor intimidatingly, lean over and take great pleasure in telling the saddos that they won’t be able to buy an iPhone 7 Plus or 'Jet Black' iPhone 7 (aka the good-looking one) once the smug Apple people let them into their hut.
In a carefully formulated statement designed to make everyone forget the disappointment they felt at last week’s launch event and actually believe they need Apple’s new wares, the company’s confirmed that it’s completely sold out of the iPhone 7 Plus in all colours and the iPhone 7 in shiny black.
“Beginning Friday, limited quantities of iPhone 7 in Silver, Gold, Rose Gold, and Black will be available for walk-in customers at Apple retail stores,” it said. “During the online pre-order period, initial quantities of iPhone 7 Plus in all finishes and iPhone 7 in Jet Black sold out and will not be available for walk-in customers.
“Customers can continue to order all models in all colours on Apple.com. We sincerely appreciate our customers’ patience as we work hard to get the new iPhone into the hands of everyone who wants one as quickly as possible.”
If nothing but one of the sold-out, super-popular, this-is-what-the-cool-kids-are-buying models will do, you might be better off looking at the retailers, such as Carphone Warehouse and the like. [Apple]
