Well, well, well, look what we have here. Apple's stunned the world with the totally unexpected launch of a new handheld gadget thing that they're calling the iPhone 7. There's also a slightly bigger one called the iPhone 7 Plus. Look at how shiny and phone-shaped they are.
We understand that the devices are primarily intended to be used for calling people you may or may not know, as well as for capturing and sending special pictures of noodles to good-looking people you may or may not like, and controlling other expensive electrical stuff you may or may not have in your home.
Okay, serious heads on now. Apple's weird Twitter account actually jumped the gun by revealing the handset ahead of the official unveiling. It seems the company still needs to work on social media. The tweets were quickly deleted.
As you may have expected ahead of the launch, there's no headphone jack on either model, which means you should think about investing in a decent set of Bluetooth headphones. The Plus model also features a dual 12-megapixel camera setup around the back, which means it looks a bit different to the regular iPhone 7 and should be capable of capturing slightly superior snaps. The regular model uses a single 12-megapixel sensor, and both handsets now have OIS.
The big news, however, is that the iPhone 7 is water-resistant. There are new colours too, including a very glossy black, and those antenna lines have been hidden pretty well. The home button is now Force Touch- (3DTouch-) enabled, so you can hold your thumb on it… and wait for stuff to happen. We’re not sure what that may be quite yet.
According to Apple's Twitter account, the iPhone 7 will be available on September 16th.
