BlackBerry Hasn't Given up on the Physical Keyboard

Industry sad sack BlackBerry has issued the world a reminder of its continued existence, with CEO John Chen this week confirming that a new phone with a physical keyboard is incoming.

He teased the announcement back in September, but made the news all proper and official by speaking the following words to Bloomberg. “We have one keyboard phone I promised people. It’s coming.”

Cue sharp intakes of breath. It’s widely believed that this mystery device will be the one-time smartphone giant’s final ever physical keyboard-toting handset, and you’re heartless if that doesn’t make you feel a tinge of sadness.

It’s expected to land within six months and is rumoured to feature a 4-inch display, the Snapdragon 625 processor and 3GB of RAM, and also run Android 7.0 Nougat. [Bloomberg]
