Google has unintentionally created a Superman VR type thing, which lets you fly around the world like a retired version of the Man of Steel, who just fancies seeing the sights and can’t be bothered fighting baddies anymore.

Google Earth VR looks pretty spectacular and it’s available now on Steam and the HTC Vive, with a 2017 rollout planned for rival platforms. Have a look for yourself:

After you’ve visited your schools and previous homes and have completely run out of ideas for where to go next, you can select one of Google’s hand-picked destinations or cinematic tours, which could take you to the tastiest of places, such as the Amazon River, the Manhattan skyline, the Grand Canyon or the Swiss Alps.
