They say it is better to have tried and failed than ever to have tried at all, but poor old Chris Evans must be wondering about the wisdom of doing that this morning, following the release of the first episode of The Grand Tour on Amazon's Prime Instant Video service.
It seems that the first thing a number of viewers thought to do immediately after watching the first episode was to take to Twitter... and tell the erstwhile Top Gear presenter how much better it is than his attempt at reviving the BBC's car show.
We'd speculate that Evans was anticipating this reaction, as he had Sara Cox deputise for him on his Radio 2 breakfast show today - perhaps to avoid an awkward elephant in the room (or perhaps he was just off on Children in Need duties or something). But still people have done that awful thing where you include the @name of a person in a tweet, so that it will be deliberately flagged up in their mentions column that you're slagging them off.
Yes, Evans is almost certainly richer than you are, so could conceivably cry into wads of £50 notes, but that doesn't give you an excuse to be horrible to him. He was clearly invested in Top Gear, and did his best - there's no need to tweet him to remind him that he failed. But here's some people doing just that:
