Netflix Adds Video Preview Thumbnails to its Big Screen Device Listings

Netflix is adding a new interface feature that'll appear when browsing its selections on non-mobile screens, with the streamer about to launch a miniature video preview tool to more accurately portray the events within each presentation.

It's already been testing it on guinea pigs with their eyes help open, as the company explains: "They are specially designed video synopses that help members make faster and more confident decisions by quickly highlighting the story, characters and tone of a title. In developing this experience, our testing showed that people watched more of a story, demonstrating these previews helped them browse less and watch more."

It should start appearing from today, although given that part of its target it smart TVs and games consoles, there might be quite a wait for your preferred hardware manufacture to roll it out to your Roku or your Xbox or your LG whatever TV.
