Lloyds Source: Crash Was a Deliberate DDoS

By Gary Cutlack on at

Despite saying nothing about the problems at the time, it now appears that Lloyds is blaming hackers and/or other random angry people for the downtime that hit the group's online services and apps a couple of weeks ago.

The banking group is working with police under the assumption that a DDoS attack was responsible for crashing many of its systems and those of its subsidiaries Halifax and Bank of Scotland, with the revelation that it was indeed a deliberate attack on the bank's network coming from a source within the bank.

Basically hackers could stop us being able to pay our gas and electricity bills through the internet now, so we could all die of cold because of this stupid modern world. [Reuters]
