Despite constantly giving his money away and spending it on important charity projects, Bill Gates is on track to become the world's first trillionaire, according to a report by Oxfam.
The thoroughly depressing paper, titled 'An Economy for the 99%,' shows that the eight richest people in the world (all dudes) have as much collective wealth as the poorer half of the entire world. As the Metro reports, it also contains the relatable line "If you are already rich, you have to try hard not to keep getting a lot richer." Yeah, totally. Have that problem all the time.
On the sort-of bright side, if Gates does indeed become the world's first trillionaire - sometime in the next 25 years, says Oxfam - it'll be in US dollars. By that time we'll be well and truly Brexited, so if it was in pounds he'd probably be as poor as the rest of us. [Metro]
