Google has created a pair of fancypants designer jeans to match its 'Really Blue' Pixel handset.
The blue edition of the popular Pixel phone, which has only just come to the UK, is a limited edition and exclusive to EE. To promote it, Google teamed up with celebrity designer Christian Cowan who has apparently designed for Lady Gaga, 50 Cent and Ariana Grande (don't ask me, I do phones) .
The ad campaign, led by model Toby Huntington-Whiteley, is your standard high-end fashion fare: no one's wearing enough clothes and everyone looks pissed off.
The bafflingly frilly jeans only have one pocket, and - you guessed it - it's the exact size and shape of the Google Pixel. Hopefully with a bit of wiggle room for cases.
If you want a pair, you'll need to make an appointment with Cowan himself. They're custom-made and "price will be quoted at primary fitting." The 22-year-old (yes, really), who recently appeared in America's Next Top Model, comments:
"It’s incredibly exciting to be working with Google on this project and a challenge that I couldn’t resist! ‘Really Blue’ is such a unique colour and the concept behind it really appealed to me.
When developing the designs for the jeans, it was really important the final pair matched that vibrant, youthful feel that Pixel Really Blue echoes. I’m delighted with the final product and what better way to pay homage to a one of a kind phone than with a brand new, one of [a] kind wardrobe staple."
I repeat: "Really Blue is such a unique colour."
I'm never going to understand fashion.
The I-Can't-Believe-It's-Not-Black Google Pixel is available for preorder at EE and Carphone Warehouse now and will be in shops from tomorrow. Frills not included.
