The latest model of Amazon's Fire HD 10 is now available to pre-order. The HD 10 is the biggest tablet of the popular Fire range, and this newest model boasts a faster processor and a longer battery life than its predecessors.
The new Fire HD 10 comes with a 1080p 10" screen, twice the RAM of the last model and a quad-core processor that's 30% faster. The battery lasts up to 10 hours with 'mixed usage', two hours longer than the previous Fire HD 10.
It also comes with hands-free Alexa for the first time in a tablet, so if you don't feel like pushing some buttons, you can boss around a virtual assistant to do your tasks for you. Alexa can control video and music playback, read you the news, add events to your calendar, order your shopping and connect with other smart devices around your home among other things.
Starting at £150, it's also the cheapest the HD 10 has been, with the previous version retailing for £170. For a powerful, 1080p tablet, it's a steal. You can choose to upgrade the built-in storage space to 64gb (£180), but since both models come with a MicroSD slot supporting up to 256gb, it seems pretty pointless to pay extra when SD cards are so cheap to buy.
The Fire HD 10 will be released on 11th October, and you can pre-order it here.
