Argos Sends Star Wars' BB8 Back to Space

By Kim Snaith on at

Argos doesn't just sell toys. It also send them into orbit. Quite literally.

In a far-out marketing stunt, retailer Argos arranged for a toy BB8 to take to the skies in order to promote its newest range of Star Wars: The Last Jedi toys. BB8 reached a height of over 37,000 metres, capturing some pretty awesome images in the process. His entire flight lasted just a couple of hours before coming back to Earth, reaching impressive speeds of 200mph in the process.

Argos' new The Last Jedi range features 15 different toys, two of which are exclusive to Argos. Prices range from £12.99 up to £140. Unfortunately, none of them come with the built-in ability to go into orbit, but if you have a team of a dozen space experts on hand like Argos did, you might be able to make it happen.
