Sky Launches a Sci-Fi Film Channel, But Only for a Month

By Gary Cutlack on at

Some advertising or marketing machinations probably involving the promotional budgets of Star Wars or Blade Runner are afoot, with the result being that Sky Cinema subscribers are to have a free extra sci-fi channel for the month of September and the first week of October.

It's called Sky Cinema Sky-Fi, and it'll be available to those with the Sky Cinema bundle at no extra cost. Sky says such films you like but have also probably seen enough times already like Blade Runner, Back to the FutureThe Terminator, all of the Star Trek movies and even such recent hot potatoes as The Force Awakens and Rogue One are to be screened, along with a "special programme" designed to get people excited about the new Blade Runner.

It'll work with On Demand users and those who do it all though NOW TV as well, running between Saturday September 9 and Sunday October 8.
