Harrison Ford is known for being a bit aloof, especially during interviews. He famously doesn’t particularly enjoy the attention, and his behaviour is often a little bit on the side of strange.
So it’s not all that surprising when he appeared on the Graham Norton Show last week and, uh, didn’t seem to remember Ryan Gosling’s name. He tries to tell an anecdote about Gosling’s hiring, one where he recommended Gosling to the producers of the film only to find out they’d been talking to him for months, before they even reached out to Ford himself. Only he keeps pausing and turning to his co-star, who happens to be right beside him, to be prompted on his name. “Ryan? It’s Ryan, right?”
As with a lot of Harrison’s public oddities, it’s hard to tell how much of this is a bit and how much is, y’know, just not being that invested. The first moment looks to me like honest forgetfulness, at least.
Either way, it’s not the worst thing Harrison did to co-star (Bryan Fosling?) during the production and promotion of Blade Runner 2049. That would have to be the whole, uh, face-punching thing.
Blade Runner 2049 is out in UK cinemas October 6th, and you can read our review here.
