Star Wars: The Last Jedi might have only just come out, but as we've pointed out before there is another Star Wars film due in just over four months time. Solo is set to be released on 25th May, and being a Star Wars film it'll be accompanied by a massive number of toys to try and line the pockets of Disney's solid-gold suits.
Those toys will, of course, include Lego sets, and with the film so close images are already starting to leak. Images that seem to show off the Millennium Falcon's original design.
Skip ahead to number 6 to see the Falcon
As you can see the basics of the ship we all know and love are there, but there are some pretty big exceptions. For starters the front of the ship has been filled in, with a new section between the two front 'teeth'. The colour is also totally different, since it's white with dashing of blues rather than grey with dashings of red. Other notable changes include the top canon, and the shape of the shield dish. It's been known for a long time that Han made extensive modifications to the Falcon, but now we have a glimpse of the extent of his handiwork. The overall design still feels familiar, though.
The set also seems to corroborate an image that was leaked a few weeks ago (via Licensing Russia), though Lucasfilm claimed they weren't legit. It feels as though they may have been telling lies then.
The set is labelled as the 'Kessel Run Millennium Falcon', which seemingly confirms rumours that the infamous 12-parsec Kessel Run will be in the film. While trying to gleam spoilers from Lego sets hasn't worked out very well in the past (Iron Man 3 and Wonder Woman come to mind), it would be a big strange for Lego to create an elaborate set from scratch. And as far as I can tell this particular design hasn't showed up in the old Legends canon, either for the Falcon or any other Corellian YT-1300 light freighter.
The set comes with a bunch of minifigures including what's clearly Han, Chewie, Emilia Clarke's Kira, Lando, two droids, and something else I can't make out. Other sets leaked include a pretty run-of-the-mill Imperial TIE fighter, and two new kinds of landspeeder - one of which belongs to Han and other with two new characters whose names I can't quite make out. There's also a new stormtrooper called the 'range trooper' that looks like a cross between the generic stormtroopers and the scout troopers from Return of the Jedi.
Given how close Solo is to release, there's no doubt that we'll be seeing more of these sets and the film in the coming weeks. Hopefully it won't be long before we see a trailer and get to see the original Falcon in action. [Screenrant]
