After the success of Pokémon Go, it's pretty obvious that games developers started getting ideas about how to try and mimic that success - utilising AR and real world gameplay. Jurassic Park and Harry Potter games have already been confirmed, and now they're being joined by The Walking Dead.
The Walking Dead: Our World is essentially an RPG that uses a mix of augmented reality and Google Maps to develop gameplay. The real world is turned into your gameplay map with different locations you can travel too, using augmented reality to fight off zombies alongside characters from the TV series.
Judging from the trailer and imagery already released, those characters can be levelled up alongside you and your weapons - which will help you as you travel through the game. Plus, because the maps are powered by Google you can be sure that they're always fully up to date with new buildings and streets that might pop up over the course of the game's lifespan.
The Walking Dead: Our World is set for a Q2 2018 release, and a demo of the game will be on show at GDC between 21st and 23rd of March. So expect to hear a lot more in the coming weeks.
