It's bad news for anyone with nostalgic feelings about Toys R Us. It's now expected that the company will be closing its 100 UK stores after ending up in administration and being unable to find a buyer.
This news comes after a turbulent time for the famous toy shop, which included the US branch declaring bankruptcy, announcements that 26 existing branches would be closed sometime this month, and nearly going under just before Christmas. Despite a last minute deal saving the company back in December, things have taken a turn for the worst.
It's expected that the closures will result in 3,000 redundancies, which a pretty crappy turn of events for everyone involved. Hopefully they can find a replacement job sometime soon.
So far it's not clear what will happen to stock, and whether the company will be having a sale to clear out the stores before they shut down.
Update: It looks like Toys R Us is having a general closing down sale, with discounts across the board. You can check out the discounts here.
