We're now well into the second half of Prime Day, and it's been apparent since yesterday lunchtime that the deals are pretty mediocre at best. It's no Black Friday, and even that can be sketchy depending on what you're actually looking for. After all, who wouldn't want to buy Super Mario Odyssey and a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller for £5 less than it normally costs?
Still if you're in the market for some specific items, there are some good deals to be found. For instance, if you want to get into virtual reality there's a nice little deal on the PSVR headset. Normally to get the full experience you'd need to buy the PSVR starter kit (the headset and camera) alongside a pair of PS Move controllers - both of which will set you back £250 and £69 respectively. But for Prime Day things are a little bit different, you can get everything you need to plug in (minus the PS4 itself) for just £230.
That's the price the headset normally goes for on its own, in case you're wondering, and means you're saving just under £90 on the whole bundle. There are no proper games included, so you'll have to spend a little extra before you can do anything of value with the headset, but if you've been looking to get into virtual reality gaming this is your perfect opportunity. You won't get a chance like this until Black Friday, which four months away. A lifetime, really.
If you don't have the PS4 either you can get yourself a Pro console for £300 - saving yourself £50 in the process. Again that's with no games, but it's still a good price. Alternatively if you're more of a PC person, you can get the Oculus Rift and Touch controllers for £350, a saving of £50 from both Amazon and the Oculus store. That said the Oculus price drops down to £350 fairly regularly, so there's probably no rush on that one.
