Last year, Lenovo released its Mirage headset and with it a piece of software that allowed everyone to live out their greatest fantasy: becoming a Jedi. Jedi Challenges is essentially a smartphone app, but coupled with the augmented reality technology that the Mirage headset facilitates, it can create holographic images that display in the real world. With the lightsaber accessory bundled with the headet, it means you can fight 'real' lightsaber battles, along with a few other gimmicks bundled into the software (Holochess and strategic combat planning).
Lenovo has added new content to Jedi Challenges since its launch, including multiplayer lightsaber battles, and the latest to be added allows players to battle against Kylo Ren, Yoda and Rey. The update will also see Ship Battles added to the multiplayer part of the app, letting players take control of Rebel and Empire fleets in a RTS-style game.
The update is free, letting anyone who owns a Mirage headset enjoy the new additions once it arrives on 1st October. But if you want to take things to the next level, Lenovo is releasing a limited edition Kylo Ren lightsaber – pictured above. Replicating Kylo Ren's lightsaber from The Last Jedi when in AR mode, the new lightsaber will be available at some point 'this winter'. It'll be $100 in the US, with no word on a UK price just yet.
