Rod Stewart Finally Embarrassed by Leopard Skin Chair at Age 73

By Gary Cutlack on at

Rod Stewart's having a clear out of all the trappings of fame he's acquired over the past innumerable, interminable decades, with a local auction house about to shift a load of his unwanted classic and more gaudy modern furniture items, as he's moving house.

The peak haul from his faux leopard skin period would have to be the above chair, in which you can imagine broken-spirited 1987 Rod slumping while wondering if it's just a blip or if this is really the end. This could be yours for around £350 if you can manage the logistics of getting a car to a little village in Essex on Tuesday 11 September, when his collection is being sold off.

Most of his things seem to be gilt-covered, and are on show in the Stansted Mountfitchet Sworders salerooms from 7 September. [Sworders]
