Will Smith Pulls a Shift in Boots to Sell His Kid's Bottled Water Brand

By Gary Cutlack on at

Will Smith has taken on a small part-time role in a branch of Boots, where he used his star power to help sell a brand of bottled water. A new bottled water that's being pushed by his son, Jaden, as being better than all the other waters.

Jaden got his unit-shifting expert dad in to sign bottles of his Just Water product, so perhaps a couple might have been sold to go on eBay. The water is apparently an eco-friendly bottled option, as 82 per cent of its packaging is supposedly sourced from renewable sources — in the form of a "mostly paper" bottle and a sugarcane plastic lid. There's a foil and plastic coating inside it, though, meaning that it's probably not going to get recycled in the UK, as that sort of recycling is quite niche. Should burn well, though.

Rather counterintuitively, Smith Sr says the inspiration to sell water in bottles came from seeing... discarded water bottles, with dad telling local media that: "While Jaden was surfing as a young kid, some plastic water bottles floated by him and he soon realised that they were dirtying our oceans and killing the environment. He was immediately motivated to do something to save our planet; our future —  and with that wish, JUST Water was born." [Nottingham Post]
