The BBC is preparing a full rebrand of BBC Two, which will see the cute little robotic 2s that used to whizz about the place replaced by a series of swooping curve idents to tell you you're on the channel.
It'll be difficult to even notice a two in the new graphics at all, as they concentrate on the swoop of the curve and don't really do much in the way of screaming "You're watching BBC Two so here is Newsnight" at the viewer. Probably because the viewer is watching a catch-up stream on a telephone and channel identities as a whole have disappeared into a black hole of content. Here's the sort of thing we'll soon see:
The rebranded BBC Two will appear on Thursday, so be prepared for literally no one liking the look of it at all for at least 48 hours before general acceptance kicks in. [Guardian]
