Now TV, the streaming service operated by Sky, has just announced a new monthly pass: Sky Sports Mobile. Priced at £5.99 a month, it gives subscribers access to four Sky Sports channels on their mobile device.
The channels included with the subscription are Sky Sports Premier League, Sky Sports Action, Sky Sports Arena and Sky Sports News. The Premier League channel offers up 126 live Premier League games each season, whereas Sky Sports Action and Sky Sports Arena offer a range of sports including NFL, WWE and Rugby Union.
A Sky Sports Month Pass on Now TV costs £33.99, which of course allows you to watch on a bigger TV screen. The Mobile pass doesn't include the same amount of channels – four, versus the 10 included with the TV pass. But if you can survive watching the footy on your phone, then just £5.99 seems like quite a steal for Premier League content alone. And at least your other half can't nag you for hogging the TV to watch sports. Sounds like a win/win to me.
You need an iOS or Android device that supports the Now TV app, but that's basically anything more powerful than a potato. You need at least iOS 9 and anything above an iPhone 4S, or an Android device with at least Android 4.0 and a 1 Ghz processor. You can register the Now TV app and your Sky Sports Mobile on up to four devices, but only one of them can watch content at any one time.
