People who like spending £1.90 on a single donut because they're too good for Greggs are in for a right treat this week, as incomer sugary treat brand Krispy Kreme has launched an entirely new type of donut. A limited edition donut. The Donut S. Or in fact the Donut V, as the icing on it is supposed to resemble the flavour of popular fizzy drink Vimto.
If you are vulnerable enough and off-message enough about healthy eating choices to think that a Vimto-flavour donut sounds like a great lunch idea, there's a special thing you need to know first. The Vimto ones are not currently stocked with the rest of them, nor do they appear on menus, if a list of donuts can indeed be described as a menu. In order to receive the special donut you have to say "I see Vimto in Krispy Kreme" to the serving person, and if the serving person has read the bulletins from head office, a Vimto donut will then be produced from under the counter or back in the kitchen, if the place where donuts are sorted can indeed be described as a kitchen.
It sounds like a bit of a joke but apparently isn't, with the magical Vimto donuts yours to beta test between October 8 and October 14, before they become official and appear on shelves from October 15. [Metro]
