Asda Now Does Takeaway Pizza

By Holly Brockwell on at

Getting takeaway pizza just got a lot cheaper with the news that Asda is teaming up with JustEat to deliver its £6 pizzas to your doorstep.

Domino's it ain't, but you can have any topping you want on your  XL 16-inch pie – providing you live in some pretty specific areas, anyway.

The service has been trialled in Killingbeck in Leeds for the last month, and is now rolling out to Beeston (also Leeds), Wakefield (West Yorkshire) and Livingston (West Lothian). You'll need to live within two miles of the relevant Asda store to order.

Pizzas on offer include favourites like Margherita, American Sizzler, Pepperoni and Vegetable Supreme, and there's a £15 meal deal that gets you a pizza, four side dishes, a drink, a dessert & a dip. Not half bad.

Here's how the prices stack up against the competition:

To order, you choose your food through the Just Eat app, Asda cooks it in the in-store diner, and then it's brought to you. You can also go into the store and get a cooked pizza there to take home, but why bother when you could have it couriered over as you laze on the settee?

Senior Buying Manager James Ainger comments through bites of melted cheese:

"We are really excited to be trialling this new service in our store in Killingbeck, along with plans to roll out to three more stores later this month. We know our customers love Asda pizzas and now they can have them delivered to their doorstep."

It looks like there'll be more areas becoming available if the trial offering proves popular, too. Just Eat commented:

"We have partnered with Asda on a localised trial for takeaway delivery in Leeds. This is part of our mission to offer customers the widest choice possible and we will continue to assess the results to determine whether we can expand our partnership further."
