This 1.2kg Pig in a Blanket is the Definition of Christmas Excess

By Holly Brockwell on at

If you love your pigs in blankets at Christmas, you might just be delighted to hear that online retailer MuscleFood has supersized the festive snack to gargantuan proportions.

Alternatively, you might feel a tad bit queasy, like we do.

Taking between 30 and 45 minutes to cook in the oven, the 1.2kg monster food is less of a pig in a blanket and more of a boar in a duvet. With 10 servings of 120g, eating the whole thing will net you over 3,000 calories.

"Made with delicately spiced and herbed sausage meat, oodles of streaky bacon and seasoned to perfection," the prodigious piggy will cost you a whopping £17.95, enough to get over 100 of the regular-sized snacks at Iceland.

That's decent value though, because according to the Evening Standard, it contains enough meat to make 116 of the blighters.

It can also be frozen, which is good news if you need a handy truncheon around the house.

If you must, the meat log can be bought at MuscleFood (with 24-hour delivery!), whose slogan is 'healthy living. made easy.' Hmmm.
