Greggs Celebrates an Early Christmas by Giving Away Festive Bakes Tomorrow

By Tom Pritchard on at

You know the drill. Christmas, festive menus, earlier every year, and all those complaints. Most Christmassy food is here already, but Greggs' festive bake has been mysteriously absent. Well if you've been eagerly anticipating the chicken-and-trimmings pastry you're in luck. Greggs is celebrating this year's launch by giving away 1,600 of the things.

As is the norm with this sort of thing you won't be able to get a free festive bake at any old Greggs branch, especially since there are over 1,650 of them in the UK. Instead you'll have to head into a big city, find the right branch, and go in after 4pm tomorrow (7th November) to claim your free meat-pastry. Once you're there, though, you simply have to ask and hope they haven't run out.

Each branch will have 100 of the bakes to give away, complete with the chicken, stuffing, bacon, sage and cranberry sauce all wrapped up in pastry. Those taking part are:

  • Aberdare – 22A Victoria Square
  • Aberdeen – 55 Union Street
  • Belfast – 52/54 Botanic Avenue
  • Birmingham – 85 New Street, Birmingham New Street Station
  • Bristol – 87 Broadmead
  • Cardiff – 34 Queen Street
  • Durham – 2/3 Saddler Street
  • Edinburgh – Unit 12 Waverley Mall
  • Enfield – Epping Forest Retail Park
  • Glasgow – 162/164 Buchanan Street
  • Leeds – Central Arcade
  • Liverpool – 21 Bold Street
  • London – 111 Great Portland Street
  • Manchester – City Tower, Parker Street
  • Plymouth – 54 New George Street
  • Sunderland – Phoenix House, Union Street

After tomorrow's free giveaway the festive bake will go on sale on Thursday 8th November, costing £1.50 each. Other Christmas-themed food going on sale at the same includes a Pigs in Blankets baguette, chocolate cherry muffins, and Christmas Lunch soup. Let's hope the 'Christmas' flavour isn't sprout. [Metro]
