While there are still phones out there that trundle along with 4GB of RAM, we're still creeping towards an 8GB norm. So it's about time we started pushing beyond 8GB, right? Some phones have started squeezing in 10GB, and the still-unannounced OnePlus 6T McLaren edition might be one of them.
The phone was teased earlier this week when OnePlus announced a partnership with McLaren. Nothing was actually confirmed by either company, but since the link was called McLaren 6T it kind of gave the game away. Well now this new information comes from sources speaking to MySmartPrice. They claim that there will only be a single variant of the phone, packing in a crazy-sounding 10GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The extra RAM would hardly be a surprise given the 'Salute to Speed' tagline OnePlus has associated with the partnership. You can't salute speed if you have the same old shtick as before.
There's no word on price, but OnePlus has promised that there will be more news coming out of a special event at the McLaren's Woking test centre on 11th December. Presumably that'll be where the phone is being launched, just in time for Christmas. Or just in time for Royal Mail to lose it among the piles of Christmas post. [MySmartPrice]
