Lego's Ultimate Collector's Edition Millennium Falcon is the biggest Lego set ever made. That, coupled with the fact it's a Star Wars set means it's really quite horrendously expensive. Normally it would cost you £65o to get your hands on one, but thanks to Black Friday you can get it for £100 less. All you have to do is head on down to your nearest Smyths.
£550 is still a lot of money, but with that 15-ish per cent discount the whole purchase became just a little bit more justifiable. Be warned, though, it has over 7,500 pieces and took me 17 1/2 hours to build - which was quite quick from what I've seen of other Falcon builders. It's also huge, so you need to make sure you have a lot of free space. Still it is a lovely set, and any fan of both Star Wars and Lego is going to want to add it to their collection.
The downside here is that the set isn't available for home delivery, but there does seem to be plenty of stock in most, if not all, of Smyths' physical shops. There's no indication on when this deal expires, but obviously it won't continue if your local shop runs out of stock. In other words you better make up your mind pretty quickly, lest you end up faced with the prospect of paying full price.
Obviously this isn't the only deal Smyths has on Lego, having already knocked £110 off the Lego Death Star among other things. There's also a voucher deal that will give you £10 off any purchase over £100, even if it's already been discounted. Of course it's not the only place to knock money off Lego sets. Lego has its own Black Friday sale running, while Argos, John Lewis, and Amazon have thrown out some hefty discounts. Basically, it's a great time to buy Lego regardless of the retailer.
