Samsung's prepared a little Christmas present for owners of the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus: the much-anticipated Android Pie update.
As ever, it's a staged rollout, so it might come to your phone sooner or later. We do know it's already arrived in Germany, the Netherlands and Slovakia, according to The Verge.
While this has been a faster rollout than Oreo was on Samsung devices, it's still kind of crappy that we're well into leak season about the next device before the last one gets up-to-date software. The S9 was unveiled back in February, and we've already got mega details about the Galaxy S10 and the Samsung folding phone -- it shouldn't be the case that we know half the features of the next phone before the last one gets a version of Android that was released back in August.
Still, it's nice to see the S9 line will get Pie before the new year. The update will include the new One UI, which Samsung talked a lot about at the Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) this year.
