Rick And Morty Season 4 Will Be Exclusive To Channel 4

By Holly Brockwell on at

Slightly unexpected news in the Rick and Morty universe today: the long-awaited season 4 will be premiering exclusively on Channel 4.

We still don't have a date for the fourth series (sob) but the first three series will be showing on E4 from February.

We were expecting season 4 to pop up on Netflix, but it seems Channel 4 has done a deal with Adult Swim to bring a load of their shows to All 4. Which is good, because All 4 is free, but also bad, because All 4 has the worst ads of ALL TIME and if you dare to rewind at any point, you have to watch them all again.

The excellently-named Ian Katz, Channel 4 Director of Programmes, comments while inhabiting the form of a pickle:

"Rick and Morty is one of the most anarchic, ingenious and original shows around and the breakthrough animated hit of recent years. I’m thrilled that it’s coming to Channel 4 and E4."

E4 will also host the UK premiere of Robot Chicken: The Walking Dead, in a new Adult Swim hour-long timeslot on the channel. It'll be used to show programmes that will be available to stream as full series boxsets on All 4 from February.

In the meantime, we'll be playing this excellent Mr Meeseeks remix on repeat, because existence is pain.
