Spotted on the Central line tube in London: A chap reading (and annotating!) some paperwork titled "The Basics: What is a penis extender?" True, he was probably an overworked copywriter working on a particularly-embarrassing project as Reddit commenters suggest, but please don't rain on my parade anymore than the existence of penis extenders already have, mmmkay? Click below for a more detailed, erm, read. [Reddit via @IanVisits] Read More >
Intel's back with the crazy-sauce dancing tiger last seen in the Ultrabook commercial back in March, and yup, this promo (staged in front of the Japanese media just a few days ago) is just as bonkers. I definitely can't say it makes me want to buy an Ultrabook, but a dancing tiger, well...where's the nearest zoo? [@LukeWestaway via SlashGear] Read More >

Unfortunately you're going to have to look overseas if you want to get your paws on a Snapdragon S4 version of the HTC One X, which US network AT&T announced last week. But if you do prefer your chips flavoured with Snapdragon instead of Tegra 3, you may be interested in watching this little battery test our desk-buddies at TechRadar put together. Read More >
I'm going to spend the rest of my days living in envy because The Telegraph's Harry Wallop was allowed into McVitie's Jaffa Cake factory, and I was not. Luckily he shot a video, so we can all dream of diving into vat P130, or scooping a freshly-baked biscuit (sorry, I mean cake) right off the conveyor belt after its 18 minutes' journey. Read More >

*Except, obviously, what we're wearing. (The answer will only bore you.) As editoress of Giz UK, I'm trying to do as the Panama Canal did in the early 1900s, and connect "our ocean" to "yours." So! For the rest of the afternoon (until Sam and I down tools and head to the pub around 5.30pm), the readers' Panama Canal is open for business in this post's comments. Read More >
Thanks to the previous Galaxy model's success, Samsung is now the world's biggest phone manufacturer, a title it will no doubt keep once the slim and pebble-like Galaxy S III hits stores at the end of May. At 4.8-inches, you can tell Samsung worked really hard at retaining the slightly-smaller Galaxy S II's footprint, so despite the 22 per cent larger display, it's only 16 per cent bigger than the S II. We hear HTC's One X is already quaking a little in fear. Read More >

To say Everything Everywhere's 4GBritain campaign, which Orange and T-Mobile's parent company launched yesterday, caused a shitstorm is a bit of an understatement. We've since had representatives from every major network on the phone, giving their views on why the campaign, which aims to raise awareness of 4G and hurry it along for you and I, is as good as a land-grab. To find out more, I spoke to Everything Everywhere's CEO Olaf Swantee on the phone, as he sat in the back of a cab and chuckled at his rivals' outrage. Read More >

More and more of the analogue spectrum is being switched off ahead of Ofcom's 4G auction later this year. But Everything Everywhere, having previously decried the delayed roll-out of the faster data services, has stepped up its lobbying of the government, with the launch of their 4GBritain campaign today. And Vodafone isn't happy -- again. Read More >

Alarming news has reached our ears about a man threatening to blow himself up near London's Tottenham Court Road, with Huffington Post's Stephen Hull tweeting from the scene that a "man came into logistics office strapped up with 4 canisters threatening to blow himself up," and according to a woman who he said was the target of the attack, the man has four hostages, and was angry at having "failed a training course," and that he "wanted his money back." Before you rush off to Google's homepage to check for yourself whether it's actually celebrating Tess Daly's birthday -- of course it's not. (That fine image was mocked up by @TheManWhoFell, one of Twitter's funniest users.) But the point is, it could be real. How many times in the past two years have you thought "why is Google celebrating the 157th anniversary of some niche invention?" or "I wish Google would stop fooling around with easter eggs such as "askew" and "zerg rush" on its search page, and update my HTC Magic to Android 4.0.3* already"? Like news of a Brangelina engagement or major world event, news of London's Bakerloo line tunnel collapsing at Embankment station has reached the ears of Twitter first, with TFL confirming "an obstruction in [the] tunnel at Embankment" and almost the whole Bakerloo line suspended. An hour after the first Twitter Chinese whispers, no-one's still 100 per cent sure what exactly happened down there. Read More >
