Charging your phone can be a right slow, pain in the arse, especially if it's a power hog. If it were sold without its tablet dock, you might give the Padfone phone a second look all on its own. It's really pretty, after using it for a few minutes, it's just as powerful and smooth as any other flagship Android phone coming out, like the Optimus G Pro or the HTC One. Read More >>

There is a disturbing trend in the gadget world, and it's that laptop, tablet and phone makers aren't taking battery life seriously enough. Yes, having touch on a Windows 8 notebook is great, but not if the computer lasts an hour and a half less than one without that capability. And what good is a smartphone with an HD display and superfast processor if you have to plug it in around lunchtime? Read More >>

Looks like Asus is turning up the heat on Microsoft's Surface Pro with its own Windows 8 tablet-come-laptop thing. The Asus VivoTab packs a 10.1-inch HD screen, a 1.8GHz dual-core ship backed by two-whole-gigs of RAM, and a 64GB SSD. Yours for £400; just £90 extra for the keyboard, ugh. [TechRadar] Read More >>

Rip-off Britain in full force again. Remember that fabled Nexus 7 dock, which Asus is taking an absolute age to ship? Guess how much of a premium we're going to have to pay in the UK over our American cousins? £54. Yep, £79 in the UK, £25 in the US, according to the Verge at least. What the hell Asus? Read More >>
